MEDIA ADVISORY
WHO: Citizen Voice’s SAFELY OUT™ Project
WHAT: News conference announcing the distribution of 11,000 SAFELY OUT™
Kits to 8,000 Natomas Unified School District families and 3,000 Kits to
PRIDE employees with disabilities.
WHEN: Wednesday, May 27, 2009, 10 to 11AM
WHERE: American Lakes Elementary School
2800 Stonecreek Drive
Natomas
Drive north on I-5, exit El Camino Avenue, pass through Truxel and take
the first left onto Stonecreek Drive. Follow Stonecreek as it curves and
turns and you will come to a 4-way stop at Brewerton. The school will be
on your left. Park in the parking lot or on the street. News conference will
be held outside at the front entrance.
WHY: To announce the distribution of 8,000 SAFELY OUT™ Kits to all school
families in the Natomas Unified School District, making it the first district
in the region, and the state, to be fully covered by SAFELY OUT™.
PRIDE employees with disabilities, at the PRIDE facility off of Norwood
Avenue, have assembled all 35,000 SAFELY OUT™ Kits assembled to
date. Each of PRIDE’s 3,000 employees with disabilities will receive a Kit.
The 11,000 SAFELY OUT™ Kits are made possible through a grant from
CA Emergency Management Agency and the generous sponsorship of
Pinnacle Emergency Management based in West Sacramento.
We hope you can join us for this news conference as we celebrate a huge success
for the SAFELY OUT™ Project and the people of Natomas in the midst of tough times
and ongoing concerns about flooding and evacuation.
