FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 8, 2006
WE WELCOME ALL MEDIA TO PARTICIPATE LIVE DURING THESE EVENTS ON 9/11
WHAT: “Remembering 9/11…Protecting Our Community.” Citizen Voice, the American Red
Cross Sacramento Sierra Chapter and community leaders invite you to regional 9/11 anniversary events to remember and honor the memory of 9/11 as well as help us protect our families and our community. In light of recent terrorist activity and awareness of our region’s vulnerability to flooding and other disasters, protecting our communities from manmade and natural disasters needs to be a high priority.
The 9/11 events are part of the launch of SAFELY OUT™, a groundbreaking pilot project to
ensure that our most vulnerable are evacuated safely during a disaster. They will also providen an opportunity for the public to join in and contribute financially to this effort. 9/11 will be the first date that SAFELY OUT™ Kits will be available to the public ($10 suggested
minimum contribution, plus s/h for mail orders). To get additional details on the project or to
order a kit, beginning on 9/11, visit the Citizen Voice web site at www.citizenvoice.org or call
(916) 503-3194.
